Hoops for Hope, 3v3 basketball tournament has become a staple summer event, growing year after year into something truly special. Now entering its 5th year, the tournament began as a small adult league with just 10 teams, rooted in the simple idea of bringing people together through basketball for a greater purpose: Why Me and Sherry's House, a local nonprofit that helps families and children impacted by cancer.
As interest and community support grew, so did the event, expanding to include both high school and adult divisions, welcoming more players, families, and fans each summer. What started as a grassroots tournament has evolved into a competitive, high-energy experience that continues to raise the bar.
This past summer marked our largest and most exciting year yet, hosting 30+ teams and running in true AAU-style tournament fashion, co-hosted alongside Brian Scalabrine, the White Mamba. The day was filled with nonstop action, elite competition, and an electric atmosphere, proving just how powerful the game can be when a community rallies around it. Over $10,000 was donated to a local kiddo named James battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
From its humble beginnings to where it is today, Hoops for Hope continues to grow in size, impact, and energy.
Stay tuned, Hoops for Hope is coming back for year 5 and this summer, and it’s only getting bigger.
BIGGER THAN BASKETBALL.
