Fight Like a Kid is grassroots movement that uses team sports as a larger platform to raise awareness and stand with families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Fight Like a Kid began in 2023 as a small initiative to help support a young girl, Ava, in her battle against leukemia. It has since grown into a community-driven effort that brings together players, coaches, officials, and fans to honor children fighting cancer and support families when they need it most. Over the past three years, more than 20 teams at both the high school and collegiate levels have dedicated a game in their season to something greater than the scoreboard, childhood cancer.
Motivated by purpose, these games remind us that sports have the power to rally communities, create impact, and show families they are never alone.Â
Bigger than a game. United in purpose. When we Fight Like a Kid, we become our own team for kids battling cancer.
